Portugal TRC- What is Portugal Temporary Resident Card?

A trend has been seen in South Asian Countries that immigrants are coming over to Portugal with Schengen visas and later applying for the resident card. Our experts received several queries each day, enquiring about the same, I am describing a few pros and cons of this style of the immigration process.

Portugal Immigration does not recommend that migrant workers go beyond the immigration protocols and enter the country with other intentions.

But if you are already in Portugal as a tourist?

There can be chances that you came to visit the country but now you liked it so much in several aspects and now wants to live here. Of course, living here is not the only condition, one has to work to meet his daily expenses.

Immigration Law sections 88 and 89 describe two situations where volunteers can ask for a resident permit:

  • Section 88: Submit Manifestation of interest as a  Subordinate Worker

Before submitting manifestation of interest you need to secure some documents.

Our Team at Portugal Immigration Affair is lead by expert immigration attorneys and the process can be started by booking a consultation with us through our WebsiteFacebook, and/or Whatsapp.

  • Section 89: Submit Manifestation of Interest as an Independent Worker/Freelancer
Before submitting a manifestation of interest you need to register your company give objectives for the company and proving a viable plan for the business.

Advantages:

  • Right to live in Portugal
  • Right to travel Schengen zone
  • Good average wages are comparable to South Asian Countries
  • Free Education Benefits
  • Access to Health Benefits
  • Access to Social Benefits

Our Team at Portugal Immigration Affair is lead by expert immigration attorneys and the process can be started by booking a consultation with us through our WebsiteFacebook, and/or Whatsapp.

Disadvantages:

  • The process is lengthier and can take 18 to 24 months to complete. Meanwhile, if your visa is expired, you have to stay here until the time your process is pending, as your current situation does not allow you to cross the borders.
  • The resident card request can be denied in the last if you failed to meet the eligibility criteria after investing 2 precious years of time.

If the request got denied at SEF, you can start appealing. We are the law firm to take necessary actions in this regard.

You can ask the immigration attorney to visit SEF on the day of biometric on prior confirmation.
